Film site Collider has created a deepfake roundtable video featuring Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Jeff Goldblum, George Lucas, and Ewan McGregor.
It’s an interesting video that’s pretty crude and easy to spot as a fake BUT it does show the future direction of deepfakes and the potential risks of this new phenomena.
The 15-minute conversation darts from one topic to the next, covering everything from unreturned DVDs, Friends, and dandruff to the effect of Star Wars.
The Moderator in the video Mark Ellis is the only real character in the whole creepy clip.
Collider Video, created this video for entertainment and as you can see when you watch the video, it’s a little rudimentary.
The results aren’t perfect, but they are compelling.
“The world of deepfakes is both new and frightening, as this video demonstrates,” Collider Video said in a launch announcement.
What do you guys think of this video?
